SURFACE COLLISION PREVENTION SYSTEMS (CPS)

INTRODUCTION

The FavorSea surface CPS solution provides EMESRT level 7-9 compliant CxD devices for use in harsh mining environments. The CPS solution addresses the following collision interaction risk events:

  • TMM-to-Pedestrian collision interactions.
  • TMM-to-TMM collision interactions.

The FavorSea surface CPS solution meets the requirement of both the ISO 21815 and MOSH CMS User Requirement tests, completed through the University of Pretoria. Reports are available upon requests. All CxD devices are ICASA certified.

SYSTEM OVERVIEW

CPS TECHNOLOGY

The FavorSea surface CPS solution incorporates the latest cutting-edge technology when dealing with high-risk interactions involving TMM with TMM or with Pedestrians. Some of these technologies include:

  • RTK GPS satellite positioning, allowing detection accuracy < 300mm.
  • RF technology for TMM-to-TMM communication.
  • RF base stations for data collection.
  • RF ID or GPS tags for Pedestrian detection.

The CPS solution’s modular design allows for easy and simple upgrades to ensure the system grows as your organisation’s needs grows and allows for intelligent communications between systems and ease of integration with existing infrastructure.

LEVEL 9 OEM INTERFACE & BRAKE CONTROLLER

FavorSea has developed its communication to allow for interfacing to the OEM installed interface. Interfacing is provided through the SAE J1939 vehicle bus, using the ISO 21815-2 protocol.

FavorSea has developed a Level 9 brake controller, for instances where the OEM is unable to provide a solution to intervene to slow down and stop the TMM. This solution is integrated to the CPS solution and uses proprietary technology to slow down and stop TMM in accordance with zone detection.

FavorSea is able to interface with other 3rd party interfaces supplied by the end user.

FavorSea has a standing agreement with Nerospec and Chromotion.

CPS SUPPORT - BASE STATION

FavorSea base stations are installed on-site to relay information from the TMM to the central database. This is a low-cost data solution utilising low-frequency RF to transmit data.

The advantages of using the FavorSea RF base stations are:

  • Long range +/- 1-2km without repeaters.
  • Data stored is uploaded wirelessly.
  • Low frequency allows for uploading even if no direct line-of-sight is available.
  • No monthly subscription fees.

CPS SUPPORT - TESTING STATION

For system operation checking, FavorSea testing stations are incorporated for TMM pre-use testing before leaving parking areas. The station can be connected to access control devices to ensure that systems are fully functional before proceeding to the area of work.

Test are uploaded to the server for record-keeping purposes and reviewed via the management software.
